Based in Hong Kong, Melco Resorts & Entertainment is one of the largest international casino hotel operators.
Currently, it is primarily present in Macau, where it operates the Studio City Macau complex, for example. It also manages the City of Dreams Manila in the Philippine capital, among other locations.
During 2018, the group announced that it had obtained a 30-year license to offer the largest hotel-casino in Europe.
For a long time now, Melco Resorts & Entertainment has been working on its City of Dreams Mediterranean project in the city of Limassol on the island of Cyprus.
We have just learned of its official opening date, which is set for Monday, July 10.
An estimated budget of 550 million euros for the City of Dreams Mediterranean
Perched on the Mediterranean Sea, the island of Cyprus is geographically located in Western Asia. However, culturally, it is quite close to Southeast Europe. In fact, it is even part of the European Union.
For several years now, the Melco Resorts & Entertainment group has been working on the development of a hotel-casino there, budgeted at no less than 550 million euros.
Just a few days ago, the operator’s management finally set an official opening date for the City of Dreams Mediterranean. It is scheduled to open on Friday, July 10th in Limassol.

The largest casino in all of Europe
The highly ambitious City of Dreams Mediterranean will feature a 16-story, 5-star hotel with over 500 luxury rooms and suites. All feature private balconies with breathtaking views of Akrotiri Salt Lake, the Troodos Mountains, and the famous Lady’s Mile Beach.
In addition, the complex is also set to house the largest casino in all of Europe. It will span an area of 7,500 m² and offer 1,000 slot machines as well as around 100 tables dedicated to traditional games.
Finally, the complex will also offer a wide range of restaurants serving fine cuisine and numerous entertainment options, among others. These include a family adventure park and a Roman-style open-air amphitheater that can accommodate up to 300 people.
A positioning of the Melco Resorts & Entertainment group which will expand internationally
With the upcoming opening of City of Dreams Mediterranean, the Melco Resorts & Entertainment group continues to further expand its international reach. It has high expectations for the island’s appeal to gamblers, vacationers, and businesses.
On this subject, the hotel-casino will also offer more than 86,000 m² of space dedicated to meetings and conventions. There will also be a grand ballroom capable of accommodating more than 1,000 people.
As a result, the Melco Resorts & Entertainment group aims to establish the City of Dreams Mediterranean as an ideal destination for a wide range of events such as weddings or conferences, for example.
